Our Story
How Iridescence Came About…
My name is Eryn and I am the owner of Iridescence! I am a current Senior studying Animal Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. The picture to your left shows my fiance, Wade, and I. I am pointing this out because Wade is a big part of why I started Iridescence in the first place. He was the one person who encouraged me to carry out the crazy dream I had of starting my own pearl jewelry business, and he has been a huge help along the way! As a matter of fact, Wade was the one who bought me my very first open-at-home oyster and pearl necklace kit. And I have been in love with opening oysters ever since! My inspiration for starting this business stems from being born in June and having a pearl as my birthstone. I always found it difficult to find modern pearl jewelry that I liked and that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. So, I really wanted to find a way to sell beautiful pearl jewelry that was still affordable and was good quality for my customers to wear. I also wanted to create a fun way for people to experience the excitement of opening oysters with real genuine pearls in them more often than just when they were on vacation. Luckily, I believe that I have done just that! I hope that everyone enjoys Iridescence as much as I do! Thank you for all of your support!
